Tokyo Disneyland in a Day

Autumn 2026, Halloween season: from opening to fireworks, with the app on your side

Take the Keiyo Line from Tokyo Station to Maihama, queue before opening, and buy paid priority entry in the app the moment you are in.
Fantasyland in the morning, parades at midday and late afternoon, the east side of the park after lunch, Tomorrowland at dusk,
then the Electrical Parade and the Halloween fireworks. Written for the rules in force in October 2026.

Assumptions, and how the plan works

CORE

This plan is one example built on the operating information for Saturday 17 October 2026 (9:00–21:00). It falls in the Halloween event, when guests may also wear full character costumes. The route loops anticlockwise on the map: from Fantasyland in the south to the east side, the north, and Tomorrowland in the west.

Three ideas shaped it:

  • Open the app as soon as you are in — paid priority entry, Disney Premier Access (DPA), can only be bought after entering, and the popular ones sell out early. Secure the most popular of all, the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, straight away
  • Build around the parades — this day has Disney Harmony in Color at 12:55, the Halloween parade at 15:40, the Electrical Parade Dreamlights at 19:15 and fireworks at 20:30. Rides fit in around those four times
  • One land at a time — crisscrossing the park eats time and energy. Fantasyland in the south in the morning, the east side in the afternoon, Tomorrowland in the west at dusk
Aerial photo of Tokyo Disneyland and its surroundings: the walk from Maihama Station to the entrance, the five lands, and nine attractions numbered in the order of the day

The five lands, in map order:

The day, hour by hour

ONE DAY

Leave Tokyo Station on the 7:07 Keiyo Line, at Maihama by 7:22. Queue until the 9:00 opening, stay until closing, and take the 21:11 from Maihama, back at Tokyo at 21:27. Ride waits vary hugely with the day’s crowds, so treat the times below as a guide to how the day roughly fits together in this order.

Using the app: DPA, Standby Pass, Mobile Order

Tokyo Disneyland today is hard to do well without the Tokyo Disney Resort App. Install it before you go, sign in, and link everyone’s tickets.

CHANGE

The free 40th-anniversary Priority Pass ended on 31 August 2026. Since September, Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, Big Thunder Mountain, Monsters, Inc. and others have moved to paid DPA. Keep this in mind when reading older guides.

ServiceCostWhat it does
Disney Premier Access (DPA)PaidBuy a set time for a ride and skip most of the wait; for parades and shows, a reserved viewing area
Standby PassFreeOn busy days, some venues issue a time slot to join the queue; when it is in use, you cannot queue without it
Entry RequestFreeA lottery for seats at some shows; one entry per day
Mobile OrderFreeOrder and pay ahead at participating restaurants, then collect at your chosen time

DPA prices per ride (October 2026):

AttractionPrice
Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast¥2,500
The Happy Ride with Baymax¥1,500
Splash Mountain¥1,500
Big Thunder Mountain¥1,500
Pooh’s Hunny Hunt¥1,500
Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek!¥1,000
Haunted Mansion (limited period)¥1,000
  • Only after entry — you cannot buy before opening or from outside the park. One per ticket, per person
  • Next one after 60 minutes — after one purchase, you can buy another DPA once 60 minutes have passed or your ride’s start time arrives, whichever is sooner
  • Parade seats too — reserved viewing for the Halloween parade costs ¥3,500, and for Harmony in Color or the Electrical Parade ¥2,500

Morning: Maihama Station to opening

From Tokyo Station, the JR Keiyo Line (or Musashino Line) takes 15 minutes to Maihama. The Keiyo Line platforms are deep underground; walking there from the Yamanote or Chuo Line platforms takes about ten minutes, so allow time to change.

WHY

On holidays, long queues form at the entrance well before opening. The earlier you queue, the earlier you get in; the earlier you get in, the better DPA times you can buy, and the more popular rides you can do while the park is still quiet. The first hour and a half sets up the rest of your day.

  • Before you queue — link your tickets in the app and form a group with your party. Charge your phone fully
  • Breakfast — eat before you queue, or bring something quick. Sweets, children’s snacks, flasks and bottled drinks may be brought in

①② World Bazaar to Fantasyland

Once inside, open the app as you walk and buy DPA for Beauty and the Beast. Then head through World Bazaar under its glass roof toward Cinderella Castle ahead.

Through the castle lies Fantasyland. Spend the morning here on three of the most popular rides.

  • Pooh’s Hunny Hunt — ride a honey pot through a storybook world. Waits tend to grow, so queue early
  • Haunted Mansion “Holiday Nightmare” — the mansion said to house 999 ghosts gets its special autumn-to-winter version (15 September 2026–7 January 2027), perfect for Halloween
  • Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast — a large ride opened in 2020. A magic teacup carries you through the film’s famous scenes to music. Go at your DPA time

October closures: Dumbo the Flying Elephant until 22 October, the Enchanted Tiki Room until 23 October, and Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall from 1 October until further notice. On 17 October the Swiss Family Treehouse is also closed.

Midday: lunch and a parade

Use Mobile Order for lunch. Order and pay in the app and choose a pickup time, and you skip the restaurant queue. A time just off the noon peak makes pickup smoother.

At 12:55 comes the daytime parade, Disney Harmony in Color. Watch from the route, for example around the plaza in front of Cinderella Castle.

TIP

The parade looks different depending on where you stand. Front-row spots along the route, with no heads in the way, fill early. To be sure of a good view you can buy a reserved viewing area with DPA (¥2,500). The rules while watching: keep cameras below head height and no selfie sticks.

③④ Westernland and Adventureland

After the parade, head to the east side of the park. Big Thunder Mountain among its red rocks and Splash Mountain beyond it are two of the park’s signature coasters.

  • Big Thunder Mountain — a runaway mine train between red rock spires. On DPA (¥1,500) since September
  • Splash Mountain — a log boat through the mountain, ending in a drop down the falls. Front seats can get wet
  • Rivers of America — the Mark Twain Riverboat circles the river. Waits are usually short, so it makes a good rest

At 15:40 comes the Halloween-only parade, The Villains Halloween “Into the Frenzy” (about 45 minutes). Disney’s villains take centre stage, and each time the floats stop, a big dance party breaks out.

After the parade, head back to Adventureland, near the entrance, for Pirates of the Caribbean, an indoor boat ride through the pirates’ world that suits tired late-afternoon legs.

⑤ Tomorrowland, parades and fireworks

After dark, cross to Tomorrowland on the west side. Waits for The Happy Ride with Baymax and Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek! sometimes drop in the evening. Watch the waits in the app and use DPA if they are long.

NOTE

Tomorrowland’s Space Mountain closed in 2024 to be rebuilt. The new Space Mountain and the plaza around it are due to open in 2027. Until then there are construction hoardings, and the land feels a little smaller than it used to.

After dinner, the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights starts at 19:15, its floats of light moving along the night parade route. Then at 20:30 the Halloween fireworks, Night High Halloween (about five minutes), close the day. The regular fireworks, Sky Full of Colors, are paused during the Halloween season (15 September–31 October).

After the fireworks, pick up souvenirs in World Bazaar. As the 21:00 closing nears, the path to the station and the Keiyo Line get crowded; if you are in no hurry, linger a little before heading home.
